Dear Parents of ____________________________,
1. Introduction
I am Mr Ong Jin Cheng and I am your child’s English teacher. Like all the other teachers in the school, I will strive to help your child in his learning. I hope you can support me by ensuring that your child does his school work, corrections, revises his work and brings all the necessary materials to school.
2. Class Blog
I know that some parents do not know the work their child is doing because some of the children do not inform them. To help you monitor the work of your child, I have set up a class blog. I will post the assignments given to your child on this blog every day. In addition, I will put up reminders and other information to keep you informed of the work your child is doing or will be doing in school. The blog address is :http://2010apsclassthreepointsix.blogspot.com/Please use this blog address to get into the blog and read all the information there. You can also communicate with me by leaving your comments in the comment box.
3. Spelling/Dictation Day
Spelling/Dictation will be given every Thursday. We will alternate between Spelling and Dictation. The Spelling words are given in the Spelling List while the Dictation will be a short passage from the English Coursebook. Your child will be told the pages to learn. I will also post this information on the Class Blog. Please ensure that your child is well prepared for his Spelling/Dictation.
4. Writing Instruments & Stationery
I have noticed that some pupils do not have the necessary writing instruments such as pencils, pens, ruler, pencil sharpener, eraser, colour pencils, etc. Without these basic writing instruments, your child will be hampered in his learning as he is poorly equipped for the daily tasks. I would appreciate if you can check you child’s bag regularly to see that he has the necessary writing instruments.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best wishes
Ong Jin Cheng
English Teacher
